Preview scope
By taking part in the WatchtowerHome private preview, a participant agrees to use the service within these terms and the permissions granted by their preview administrator. The preview is unfinished: features may be incomplete, unavailable on some platforms, or changed without a production-release migration.
Access is limited to invited preview participants and the people or devices they are authorized to add. Preview access does not promise future public availability, a subscription, a store release, or continued access to any particular feature.
Account and device security
Participants are responsible for the devices, Recovery Kits, invitations, pairing material, and permissions under their control. Use trusted devices, protect operating-system access, and revoke a device, camera, member, or grant that should no longer have access.
Never publish or send a private key, Recovery Kit, access token, invitation secret, pairing code, or unredacted camera media to a support channel. Enter a complete WT-RK1 code only in the Watchtower app's Redeem a Recovery Kit screen to recover access, or at https://watchtowerhome.com/account-deletion/ when you personally choose permanent deletion. Check the address bar first. Both flows verify the kit locally and send neither the complete kit nor its private key. To resolve an uncertain deletion result, the browser page retains only a random, non-secret replay capability in local browser storage until the participant explicitly removes the retained deletion state from that page. On a shared or borrowed browser, use that removal control before leaving. The current preview has no password, email, SMS, or support-assisted account recovery, so loss of device-bound material can permanently prevent access.
Acceptable use
A participant must not use WatchtowerHome to:
- break a law, violate another person's rights, stalk, harass, intimidate, or discriminate;
- access a Space, camera, recording, or account without authorization;
- defeat rate limits, security controls, privacy controls, or device consent;
- probe or disrupt infrastructure beyond a test expressly coordinated with the preview administrator;
- upload malicious content or interfere with another participant's use; or
- represent a preview build as a qualified public, store-approved, safety-certified, or professionally monitored product.
The preview administrator may limit or revoke access when needed to protect participants, infrastructure, or the integrity of the evaluation.
Camera and media responsibility
Participants control what their cameras can see and hear, whom they authorize, whether eligible local event clips are shared, and the local retention controls available on their platform. They remain responsible for the media they capture and disclose.
Optional cloud event sharing is client-encrypted and off by default, but related identifiers and access metadata are visible to the service. Local and cloud deletion do not guarantee physical secure erasure from devices, operating-system copies, database remnants, or backups. See the Privacy policy for the current data-flow boundaries.
Availability, qualification, and changes
The service is provided for private evaluation. Sessions can be delayed, interrupted, degraded, or unavailable because of a device, network, relay, server, operating system, preview change, or other failure. The detailed foreground alert feed may not refresh while an app is closed or in the background. Optional APNs or FCM motion wakes are generic, best-effort notifications and may be delayed, suppressed, or unavailable by platform or provider behavior.
Preview data may be lost, become inaccessible, or require a reset during development. Participants should keep any material they need independently and should not use the preview as their only record or backup. No feature should be treated as physically or store qualified merely because it appears in a preview build.
These terms and the preview may change. For a revision, the preview administrator will provide notice through the same private-preview channel used to grant access. The notice will identify the new version, publication date, effective date, and material changes. A participant should review the revision before its effective date. Continued use on or after that effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms; a participant who does not accept must stop using the preview before then. Published versions remain available in the version archive.
Ending participation
A participant can stop using the preview, close Camera Mode, revoke access available to their role, remove local media, and uninstall the application. Uninstalling does not by itself delete server-side account, Space, authorization, alert, or encrypted event records.
Supported preview builds provide permanent deletion under the Account screen's Danger zone. The account deletion page explains the authenticated in-app steps, the WT-RK1 browser proof flow, and why no complete physical secure-erasure promise is made.
Questions about these terms
WatchtowerHome does not currently publish a support email address, business address, or website contact form. Preview participants can ask questions through the same private-preview administrator and channel through which access was provided. Do not include credentials or sensitive camera content. See Support for safe reporting guidance.
